New York sit in third place in the Eastern Conference and have gone unbeaten in their first four matches for the third consecutive season in MLS NEXT Pro. They were last in action on March 22, when the group hosted Philadelphia Union II at MSU Soccer Park. The side went down 0-1 in the 63rd minute, but they bounced back in the third minute of stoppage time when forward Mjahir Jimenez crossed a ball into the box to midfielder Paul Sokoloff who placed a one-time shot into the back of the net. The goal was Sokoloff’s first career MLS NEXT Pro goal and he became the third-youngest player in club history to score a goal in MLS NEXT Pro at 16 years and 256 days old. The match went on to a penalty kick shootout that goalkeeper Aidan Stokes made three saves in, however Red Bulls II fell 3-4 in the shootout to earn a point.
New England are second in the Eastern Conference and are also unbeaten this season so far. They’re coming off a 2-0 victory against Connecticut United on March 22 at Beirne Stadium. Both forward Jayden Da and winger Malcolm Fry got on the scoresheet.
Through seven all time MLS NEXT Pro matchups, RBNY II own the series with a 4-3-1 record. The side has won two of the last three matchups between the two sides and outscored Revolution II 9-6 in that span.
New York last faced New England on August 15, 2025 at Gillette Stadium. Revolution scored a quick goal in the 16th minute while penalty kick from midfielder Ibrahim Kasule in the 33rd minute leveled the scored. Marco Dias scored two goals in the 44th, and 53rd minutes to take a 3-1 lead. Midfielder Malick Dembele scored off a cross from defender Curtis Ofori in the 57th minute. New England went on to score the match sealing goal in the 79th minute to give New York a 2-4 loss.
