New York is fifth in the Eastern Conference after dropping a 3-0 result to Chicago Fire FC II in their last outing. The defending champions will aim for their first road victory since May 8.
Connecticut is eleventh in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a 3-2 home win over Toronto FC II on July 12, continuing their push up the standings.
This will be the second-ever meeting between the Tri-State rivals. The two sides met earlier this season on May 24 at MSU Soccer Park, where Connecticut earned an impressive road result, winning 3-1.
