New York is third in the Eastern Conference after securing a 5-0 victory against Philadelphia Union II at MSU Soccer Park. Winger Dennis Nelich registered his first career MLS NEXT Pro hat-trick while forward Sean Baitinger and midfielder Paul Sokoloff also found the back of the net.
Cincinnati is in 15th place in the Eastern Conference and have lost six of their last seven matches. They were last in action on June 28, where they ended their six-match losing streak with a 1-0 win over Inter Miami CF II.
The two sides faced off earlier this season. On April 19, midfielders Dennis Gjengaar and Andy Rojas scored to secure the three points in a 3-1 home victory.
Through eight all-time matches, New York have posted a 4-3-1 all time regular season record against Cincinnati. Currently, Gjengaar leads the active roster with two goals scored against the Ohio side.
