New York is third in the Eastern Conference after earning a point in their 5-4 penalty shootout loss to FC Cincinnati 2 at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium. Forwards Sean Baitinger and Christian Gallagher helped the visitors take a two-goal lead in the first half. Ultimately, the home side found the back of the net twice in the second half and prevailed in the shootout.
Chicago is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference and have gone unbeaten in their last four matches. They were last in action on July 5, where they earned a point in a 3-2 penalty shootout loss at Huntsville City FC.
The two sides will face off against each other for the first time this season.
