MATCH RECAP: New York Red Bulls II Fall 2-1 to FC Cincinnati 2 at NKU Soccer Stadium on Wednesday Night

HARRISON, N.J. (October 1, 2025) - The New York Red Bulls II (16-6-5, 55 pts) fall 2-1 to FC Cincinnati 2 (8-12-7, 38 pts) on Wednesday night at NKU Soccer Stadium.

New York opened the scoring in the fifth minute. Midfielder Dennis Nelich dribbled past a defender and played a ball to midfielder Nate Worth, who played a one-time pass wide to midfielder Andy Rojas. Rojas dribble the ball ten yards and laced a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Cincinnati equalized in the first minute of first half stoppage time. Defender William Kuisel played a ball across the six-yard box that was placed into the back of the net by midfielder Ademar Chavez.

The home side found the match winning goal in the 49th minute. Midfielder Kenji Mboma Dem played a ball towards the top of the box to Chavez. Chavez cut inside and dribbled past two New York defenders and curled his attempt into the bottom left corner of the net.

Rojas scored his third goal of the season.

Worth tallied his third assist of the season.

Nelich made his first career MLS NEXT Pro start.

The midfielder tallied his first career MLS NEXT Pro assist.

Defender Juan Gutierrez made his 67th career appearance and is tied with Ibrahim Kasule for fourth-most appearances in club history.

Forward Tanner Rosborough made his first start since July 11, after recovering from an abdominal injury.

Goalkeeper Austin Causey made three saves on the night.
