Red Bull New York II (9-4-3, 31 pts.) defeated Philadelphia Union II (6-8-2, 21 pts.) 5-0 on Sunday night at MSU Soccer Park.
New York opened the scoring in the 35th minute when defender Aimar Modelo layed it off to forward Sean Baitinger, who delivered it to winger Dennis Nelich for his third goal of the season.
In the 69th minute, goalkeeper Aidan Stokes passed the ball to defender Dennis Gjengaar, who drove the ball down the field to find Nelich, who scored his second goal of the night.
Three minutes later, captain Nate Worth layed the ball to Gjengaar, who delivered it to Baitinger for his second goal of the season.
In the 75th minute Nelich got a hat-trick, putting New York up by four.
To end off the night, in the 90'+1' minute, forward Christian Gallagher layed the ball off to midfielder Paul Sokoloff as he scored his third goal of the season.
In the past two matches against Philadelphia Union II, Nelich has scored four goals.
Baitinger has scored in consecutive matches.
Nelich scored his first MLS NEXT Pro hat-trick.
Stokes kept his first clean sheet of the season.
