HARRISON, N.J. (August 12, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II forward Mijahir Jiménez named MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchweek 22, the league announced today.

Jiménez had an incredible performance in a 2-0 victory over Philadelphia Union II on August 11 at MSU Soccer Park.

The forward opened the scoring in the 12th minute, when he stripped the ball off the foot of the Philadelphia goalkeeper and placed a shot into the back of the net.

The Panamanian international struck again in the 45th minute after placing a shot into the bottom right corner off a cross from midfielder Rafael Mosquera.

Jiménez has been on a tear this season scoring six goals and tallying an assist across 11 appearances.

The forward has scored five goals in his last four matches. He became the youngest player in club history to score a hat trick at 18 years and 114 days old in a 4-2 victory over NYCFC II on July 20.

He is the third player on the roster to win MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek, following the footsteps Julian Hall (Matchweek 3) and Ibrahim Kasule (Matchweek 13).

Jiménez and company will be back in action on Friday night, when they travel to Gillette Stadium to face New England Revolution II. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
