New York Red Bulls II Forward Oladayo Thomas Suffers Torn ACL, Will Require Surgery

HARRISON, N.J. (June 22, 2023) – New York Red Bulls II forward Oladayo Thomas has suffered a right knee injury that resulted in a tear to his anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery at a later date, the club announced today. Thomas will miss the remainder of the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Thomas, 22, joined Red Bulls II after signing an MLS NEXT Pro contract on March 10, 2023. He made his professional debut with New York on March 26th against Columbus Crew 2.

The Nigerian born forward tallied three goals and two assists in 11 appearances this year. Thomas’ 10 matches started, and 915 minutes played led all field players for the club this season.
