HARRISON, N.J. (October 3, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II goalkeeper Tobias Szewczyk has been called into U-17 USYNT Training Camp in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain from October 6 to October 15, the US Soccer Federation announced today.
Szewczyk made his MLS NEXT Pro debut in a 1-1 draw against Inter Miami CF II on September 21. The goalkeeper made six saves which was tied with Alan Rutkowski for the sixth-most single match saves in club history. The Morristown, N.J. native is the second-youngest goalkeeper to start in a Red Bulls II match at 16 years and 238 days old.
On the international stage, the goalkeeper has represented the United States, making four appearances with the U-15 USYNT, and one with the U-16 USYNT. He made his USYNT debut on December 2, 2023, in a 4-2 win over Italy. He most recently was called into U-17 USYNT Domestic Identity Training Camp in September. appeared for the U-16 USYNT on November 18, 2024, in a matchup against Mexico. The goalkeeper earned his first career USYNT clean sheet in a 2-0 win over U-15 Croatia on May 15, 2024.
The Morristown, NJ native received a call up to U-16 Poland National Team training camp in January 2025.
Szewczyk was a product of the Red Bulls Academy. He joined the organization in 2020 and was a member of the U-15 MLS NEXT Cup championship winning team.
The goalkeeper also participated in two training stints with RB Leipzig, most recently traveling with Tanner Rosborough, Adri Mehmeti, and Sokoloff in November 2024.
Szewczyk and U-17 USYNT will begin training camp on October 6 in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain and play three international friendly matches at Pinatar Arena. They’ll kick things off against Netherlands on October 9 at 5:00 a.m. ET. After the side will face Northern Ireland on October 11 at 9:00 p.m. ET. They’ll complete camp with a match against Portugal on October 14 at 5:00 a.m. ET.
