HARRISON, N.J. (September 1, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have acquired Brazilian winger Pedro Castro and fullback Kevin Wender on loan from Red Bull Bragantino through the remainder of 2026 with an option to buy pending visa approval, the club announced today.
“With Pedro and Kevin, we’re adding some very exciting young players who have already embraced our core principles at RB Bragantino,” said Head Coach Dominik Wohlert.
“Pedro is an athletic winger —very fast and a skilled dribbler —and especially in the final third, he brings qualities that will help our team. Kevin is a fullback who closely matches our requirements for that position; he’s aggressive, has a good feeling for one-on-one situations and is also consistently active on the offensive end.
“We’re very excited to have these two young players with us. Now we’ll try to create an environment where they can take the next step in their development.”
Castro made 44 appearances across all competitions at the U-20 level for the Brazilian side, adding four goal contributions. The 19-year-old midfielder made his debut on May 1, 2024, subbing on in the 82nd minute against Bahia in the Campeonato Brasileiro U-20.
After some impressive performances at the U-17 level, Wender made five appearances across all competitions for Red Bull Bragantino’s U-20 squad over the past three seasons. The 18-year-old defender made his debut at this level on August 3, 2024, subbing on in the 88th minute in a 4-0 away victory against Marília in the Campeonato Paulista U-20.
In 2019, Bragantino signed a deal with Red Bull GmbH to handle all their soccer-related assets. One year later, a new logo and the name ‘Red Bull Bragantino’ were introduced.
Castro and Wender are the first players from Red Bull Bragantino to sign a professional contract with Red Bull New York.
