HARRISON, N.J. (December 2, 2025) - Red Bull New York II forward Mijahir Jimenez has received a call up to the U-19 Panama National Team for UNCAF FIFA Forward U-19 Tournament 2025 in Panama City, Panama.
Jimenez started 13 of 18 matches played for New York during the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season scoring eight goals and tallying two assists. He earned MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchweek 22 after scoring a brace in a 2-0 win over Philadelphia Union II on August 22. The forward is the youngest player in club history to score a hat trick, doing so at 18 years and 114 days old in a 4-2 win over NYCFC II on July 20.
The Panamanian made four appearances in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs and scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs goal in a 5-3 Eastern Conference Semifinal victory over Chicago Fire FC II on October 26. Jimenez also stepped up and converted a penalty kick during New York’s 3-1 MLS NEXT Pro Cup penalty kick shootout win over Colorado Rapids 2 on November 8.
Prior to New York, the forward made 25 appearances across all competitions for Liga Panamena side CD Plaza Amador. He is the youngest striker to debut for the club making his first appearance on January 28, 2024 at 16 years and 306 days old against Sporting San Miguelito. His first career professional goal was an 85th minute game winner in a 2-1 victory over Veragua United FC on March 11, 2024.
This is Jimenez’s first career call up to a Panama Youth National Team.
U-19 Panama and Jimenez will kick off group play against Cuba on December 5 at 3 p.m. ET. After they will face Nicaragua on December 7 at 3 p.m. ET. The squad will round out the group stage on December 9 in a matchup against Honduras. All three matches will be played at COS Sports Plaza in Panama City, Panama.
