Red Bull New York II Midfielder Ibrahim Kasule Loaned to Connecticut United FC

HARRISON, N.J. (January 8, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have loaned midfielder Ibrahim Kasule to MLS NEXT Pro expansion side Connecticut United FC for the 2026 season, the club announced today.

Kasule made 64 appearances for New York over the past three seasons, scoring 28 goals and providing 11 assists. The midfielder is the all-time leading goal scorer in club history and achieved the feat in a MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek 13 honors performance scoring his first career MLS NEXT Pro hat trick in a 5-2 win over Crown Legacy FC on June 4.

In his debut season, the midfielder earned 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI as well as two MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month awards in July 2023 and March 2024. He tallied seven goals in seven matches from June 6 to July 31, 2023, which is tied for the longest streak in franchise history. Kasule made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on April 9, 2023, against Columbus Crew 2.

The Buikwe, Uganda native made his Red Bull New York debut in a matchup against New England Revolution on August 31, 2023.

Prior to New York, Kasule played for Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants FC in 2022. He tallied five goals and six assists and earned October 2022 Uganda Premier League Player of the Month.

The midfielder has made two appearances for the Uganda National Team during 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. He made his national team debut on October 13, 2023, against Algeria.
