HARRISON, N.J. (June 22, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have been named MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchweek 16, the league announced today.
Going into Matchweek 16, New York had been winless in their previous five matches. However, the squad delivered an all-around showcase in their 5-0 victory against Toronto FC II at MSU Soccer Park.
Red Bulls II’s five goals scored was the most in a single match this season for the club.
New York had four different goalscorers, including the first career MLS NEXT Pro goals for defender Joshua Munson and forward Sean Baitinger. Striker Mijahir Jiménez started the scoring in the match, while midfielder Benny Rodriguez added a brace.
The home side was strong on the defensive end too as goalkeeper Tobias Szewczyk made six saves en route to his second clean sheet of the season.
