HARRISON, N.J. (June 29, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have been named MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchweek 17, the league announced today.
New York earned this honor after posting a 5-0 win against Philadelphia Union II at MSU Soccer Park. The club also won Team of Matchweek 16 after securing a 5-0 home victory against Toronto FC II.
New York had three different goalscorers, including the first career MLS NEXT Pro hat-trick for winger Dennis Nelich. Also, forward Sean Baitinger scored in consecutive matches while fellow substitute, midfielder Paul Sokoloff, added a goal during stoppage time.
The home side was strong on the defensive end too as goalkeeper Aidan Stokes kept his first clean sheet of the season.
Next on the schedule for Red Bulls II is Cincinnati, who they will face at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium on Sunday, July 5. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET with coverage available on OneFootball and MLSNEXTPro.com.
