Red Bull New York II Re-sign Goalkeeper Austin Causey to an MLS NEXT Pro Contract

HARRISON, N.J. (January 23, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have re-signed goalkeeper Austin Causey to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2026 season, the club announced today.

“We are happy to have Austin back with the team,“ said Head Coach Dominik Wohlert. “He was a huge part of last season’s MLS NEXT Pro Cup run and is a great leader who will continue have a positive impact on the group.”

The 24-year-old goalkeeper started four of five MLS NEXT Pro appearances for Red Bulls II last season, earning his debut in a 5-2 victory over Crown Legacy FC on June 4. 

Causey played a key role in the squad’s MLS NEXT Pro Cup run, starting three MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs matches and made 12 saves, which were the third-most in the competition. He delivered in the biggest moment of MLS NEXT Pro Cup making the title-clinching save in the fourth round of the 3-1 penalty kick shootout win over Colorado Rapids 2 on November 8 to secure club’s first MLS NEXT Pro Cup.

Prior to New York, the goalkeeper made 10 appearances with USL League One side Lexington SC. since joining on January 25, 2023. Causey made his debut in a US Open Cup matchup against Louisville City FC on April 6, 2023. Before Lexington, the goalkeeper played with USL League One’s Richmond Kickers, making his debut in a 4-1 win over North Carolina FC on July 2, 2022.

The Concord, Massachusetts native began his youth career with Richmond United in Virginia where he appeared for the U-14 and U-16 teams. Causey would go on to make a move to New England Revolution Academy in July 2016.
