HARRISON, N.J. (July 23, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have signed Red Bulls Academy winger Benny Rodriguez to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through 2027, the club announced today. Rodriguez will join the first team as a Homegrown Player starting in the 2027-28 season with an option for the 2028-29, 2029-30 and 2030-31 seasons.
“Benny is an exciting football technician whose game has developed and matured across the board,” said Technical Director Tiger Fitzpatrick. “He has embraced all the challenges put before him this season and has been a key contributor on the field for Red Bulls II this season.
“We look forward to supporting him in his football journey as he takes the next step in his career joining us with Red Bulls II.”
The 18-year-old made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on August 11, 2025, subbing on in the 90th minute against Philadelphia Union II at MSU Soccer Park.
This season, Rodriguez has seven goal contributions across 15 matches this season. Currently, the winger is tied for second in the team with four goals scored.
He was also a part of last season’s squad that ultimately were crowned 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Champions.
Rodriguez joined the Red Bulls Academy in 2024. Prior to joining the club, the 18-year-old was a part of the North Carolina FC Academy.
“Benny is another player who has shown great progress over the past few months,” said Head Coach Dominik Wohlert. “He has a very interesting skillset, can play any attacking position in midfield and has also stepped up his defensive efforts.
“He’s a creative player who still has the next step in his development ahead of him. We are happy that he sees his future with us.”
