HARRISON, N.J. (June 20, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have signed Red Bulls Academy winger Dennis Nelich to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2027 season, the club announced today. Nelich will join the first team as a Homegrown Player starting in 2027-28 season with an option for the 2028-29, 2029-30 and 2030-31 seasons.
“We are excited to have Dennis [Nelich] with Red Bulls II,” said Technical Director Tiger Fitzpatrick. “It was great to see him play a role down the line en route to our Cup Final win last season. Now, Dennis has contributed countless times this season, and we are excited to see how he develops.”
The 18-year-old made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on March 17, 2025, subbing on in the 90th minute against Philadelphia Union II at Subaru Park.
This season, Nelich has registered three assists, tied for second most at the club.
The winger was named MLS NEXT Pro Rising Star of Matchweek 9 after scoring the match-winning goal in New York’s 2-1 road victory over Philadelphia Union II.
Nelich earned the same honor during Matchweek 27 after scoring against Huntsville City FC during the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro campaign
He also featured in Red Bull II’s penalty shootout win against Colorado Rapids 2 in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final, subbing into the match in the 113th minute.
Nelich joined the Red Bulls Academy in 2024. Prior to joining the club, the 18-year-old was a part of Met Oval Academy.
