Match Preview: NYRB II Look to Maintain First Place Against Saint Louis

HARRISON, N.J. (September 16, 2019) – New York Red Bulls II will take on Saint Louis FC on Wednesday, September 18, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET at West Community Stadium. The match can be seen live on ESPN 3.

NYRB II are coming off a 2-0 victory over Charlotte Independence, which helped the club secure their fifth consecutive playoff berth. Midfielder Jared Stroud recorded a goal and an assist, which made him the first NYRB II player to ever tally 20 goals and 20 assists for the club. Mathias Jørgensen added the other goal in the victory.

The last time these two clubs met was on August 2, NYRB II defeated Saint Louis FC, 2-0. Forward Sebastian Elney recorded his first career brace in the victory.

Saint Louis FC are currently on a four-match winning streak, in which they have only let up two goals. They are currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with 38 points. Kyle Greig leads the club with seven goals on the year.

Following Wednesday’s match, NYRB II will continue their road trip, when they travel to face defending champions, Louisville City FC, on September 21, kick-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.
