This week’s Homegrown Hero is Jeffrey Krakoff, Regional Director of Operations at Morrison Healthcare.
Right after the pandemic began, Krakoff organized a fundraiser for his teams on the frontline in the healthcare field to support them with PPE equipment. He was able to raise over $500 that supported service healthcare employees, food service works, Registered Dietitians and environmental service works. He was able to get 1,000 face shields donated to his hourly staff to ensure their safety.
Krakoff's team led and fed numerous COVID-19 testing sites, as well as the Westchester County Center pop-up hospital for 300 patients, six pop-up tents for overflow and the 1,000-bed Jacob Javits Center.
“Jeffrey starts and ends every workday with a smile, and that same smile has made the world a difference during these challenging times,” said Krakoff’s son, Cole Krakoff.
