Tyler Adams shines on the big stage.
The Red Bulls Academy and New York Red Bulls product sent in a deflected shot to propel RB Leipzig to a UEFA Champions League Semifinal, topping Atletico Madrid 2-1 in Lisbon on Thursday.
Adams came on for Leipzig in the 72nd minute, with the game knotted 1-1. Fifteen minutes later, from a cross into space from Angeliño, Adams teed up a shot from just outside the 18-yard-box and sent it in toward goal. The shot deflected and found the back of the net, the eventual game-winner.
New York transferred Adams to Leipzig following the 2018 season.
