New York Red Bulls striker Corey Hertzog scored two goals in his first match while on loan to the Wilmington Hammerheads on June 2nd. Wilmington defeated the Orlando City Lions 3-1, led by the offensive efforts of the Red Bulls striker.

Hertzog scored his first goal for Wilmington in the 26th minute, knotting the game at one goal apiece. The goal was scored on a breakaway by Hertzog, as he juked the keeper to put away his first goal
since being loaned to Wilmington on May 29th
. He then put the game away, scoring the third and final goal of the match to secure the victory for the Hammerheads. Hertzog’s second goal came in stoppage time, when he found himself alone with the Orlando City keeper and blasted it into the back of the net.

Wilmington and Hertzog will next be in action on June 8th when they will face the Rochester Rage.
