ABOUT THE MATCH

The Red Bulls head to San Jose for the first and only meeting of the regular season between the two sides. Last year, New York hosted San Jose for an April meeting, in what amounted to a 2-2 draw in front of the Red Bull Arena faithful. On that day, Dax McCarty registered his first-ever goal as a Red Bull and Thierry Henry picked up an assist on a Kenny Cooper goal. Last season's Golden Boot winner and MVP Chris Wondolowski scored one for the Quakes in the draw.

Real Salt Lake handed San Jose its first loss of the season last week in a 2-0 finish. Wondolowski fired off seven shots but, despite creating chances and placing shots on frame, was unable to find the back of the net.

San Jose will be without Marvin Chavez (sprained MCL), and will likely lean more on midfielder Shea Salinas to fill his shoes and step up as a creator and distributor. The Quakes will also be without forwards Alan Gordon and Steven Lenhart, who are both recovering from offseason surgeries, and may even see forward Mike Fucito miss out, as he remains questionable for Sunday's match.
