The Red Bulls host a United side that is coming off a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake last Saturday at RFK Stadium.

Forward Lionard Pajoy scored the only goal in a tight encounter. D.C. lost its first match of the season, 2-0, to the Houston Dynamo on March 2 away from home. Last season, the Red Bulls went 1-1-1 in regular season action against United, most recently tying 2-2 on Aug. 29, 2012 at RFK Stadium.

This is also the first time the sides have met since D.C. knocked out New York 2-1 on aggregate in last year’s Eastern Conference Semifinals Series. After the rivals played to a 1-1 tie at RFK Stadium, a Nick DeLeon 88th minute goal was the difference maker in the second leg played at Red Bull Arena on Nov. 7.

The teams will be vying for the Atlantic Cup, the trophy given to the club that earns the most standings points in the series between the two sides. United took the cup back from New York last season (D.C. led in goals scored in the series – the first tiebreaker) after the Red Bulls held it for two-straight years. In D.C.’s only visit to Red Bull Arena last year on June 24, former United player Brandon Barklage scored two goals to help propel the Red Bulls to a 3-2 win in front of a record sellout crowd.

If this is your first time traveling to Red Bull Arena, or you need a refresher course to find some of the best transportation options, the Red Bull Arena Transportation HUB is your best resource. The HUB lays out a number of available parking lots around Red Bull Arena and includes a list of best practices to ensure you have a great visit to and from the Arena. Make sure you give yourself a little extra time to arrive for kick off, as dense traffic is likely on match days.

Additional resources, such as parking, concession, and shuttle service tips, can be found here.
