Markus Holgersson Named to Week 11 MLS Team of the Week

New York Red Bulls defender Markus Holgersson has kept the Red Bulls' Team of the Week streak intact after he was named to the League's XI for Week 11. His inclusion marks the fifth-straight week in which at least one Red Bulls player has been included in the League's selection.


Holgersson, who has appeared and started in 11 of the Red Bulls' 13 matches this season, played an integral part in shutting down Montreal's attack during Wednesday's 2-1 win. He similarly put in an industrious effort against the New England Revolution up at Gillette Stadium, a venue that has not been all too kind to the Red Bulls, in New York's 1-1 draw Saturday evening.


To cap off his two-match performance, Holgersson was also a part of Thierry Henry's highlight-reel, bicycle kick finish against the Impact, which is currently in the running for MLS Goal of the Week.
