With only two home matches remaining on the regular season schedule, and a spot in the MLS Cup playoffs on the horizon, it’s safe to say postseason fever is starting to sweep through Red Bull Arena.

Tickets are going fast ahead of Saturday’s tilt against the New England Revolution, something that will undoubtedly help fuel the Red Bulls as they look to earn that coveted playoff spot.

“We know the South Ward is going to be there, we know they’re going to be loud, and we know that there’s going to be fans filled in around them,” Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke said during a conference call with the media Tuesday afternoon. “It’s always a great environment to play in, no matter if there’s 24,000 or 15,000. It sounds close to the same.”

The Red Bulls’ regular season record against the Revolution bodes well for the club, having earned a big 4-1 win over April 20th, before taking a point on the road in a 1-1 draw on May 11.

Now, as the team gears up to extend its five-game unbeaten streak and make a run for the Supporters’ Shield, the timing couldn’t be better for a loud, raucous crowd to back the hometown club at Red Bull Arena.

“I hope and expect there to be a good crowd,” Petke said, “a good showing this weekend.”
