HARRISON, NJ (Nov. 4, 2013) – The 2013 Supporters’ Shield-winning New York Red Bulls and MSG Networks announced today that the team’s 2013 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference semifinals home leg against the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 8:00 PM at Red Bull Arena will be telecast live on MSG at 8:00 PM ET. MSG’s coverage of the match will start at 7:30 PM with a 30-minute pre-game show and will continue immediately following its conclusion with a 30-minute post-game show.

Veteran broadcaster Steve Cangialosi will call the play-by-play alongside analyst and New York soccer legend Shep Messing. MSG’s Red Bulls reporter Tina Cervasio will contribute from the sidelines.

The Red Bulls hit the road yesterday in the first leg of the series and drew 2-2 against the Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium. In the conference semifinals, the team that scores the most goals in the two legs advances to the Eastern Conference final to take on the winner of the Sporting Kansas City-New England Revolution series (New England currently leads 2-1 on aggregate).

Led by first-year head coach Mike Petke, the Red Bulls earned their first Supporters’ Shield, given to the team with most regular season points. This year marks New York’s 10th playoff appearance in 11 seasons. Houston, the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, defeated the fifth-seeded Montreal Impact, 3-0, on Oct. 31 at BBVA Compass Stadium in its Knockout Round match to earn the right to face New York.

If New York was to advance, the first leg of the two-game Eastern Conference final series would take place on the road on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2:30 PM (TV: NBC Sports Network, Univision Deportes). The second match at Red Bull Arena would be on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7:30 PM (TV: NBC Sports Network).
