Red Bull Arena was in full swing on Thursday night as Bundesliga titans Bayern Munich took on Chivas Guadaljara of Liga MX in the 2014 Audi Football Summit. The 2013 German and European Champions earned a 1-0 win in front of sold out crowd in Harrison.

Bayern Munich will remain stateside until next Wednesday, August 6, when they’ll take on the MLS All-Stars at Providence Park in Portland, Ore. Thierry Henry, Tim Cahill and Bradley Wright-Phillips will represent New York in the match.

Ahead of Thursday’s match, the German champions trained at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday and opened the session to the public and the media, giving fans the chance to see one of the top clubs in the world up close.
Julian Green, the young US Men’s National Team star, traveled with the club but did not play in Thursday’s match. Green participated partially in Wednesday’s training session as he recovers from a minor knee injury.

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola still had plenty of star power on display despite the absence of Green and some of Bayern’s World Cup participants like Mario Gotze and Thomas Muller. Newly acquired forward Robert Lewandowski and Franck Ribery both made the starting XI for Guardiola.

Claudio Pizarro scored the lone goal in Thursday’s game at Red Bull Arena. Ribery delivered a perfect corner kick to the near post that Pizarro ran onto and flicked a diving header on frame that took a deflection and beat Chivas goalkeeper Antonio Rodriguez.
