HARRISON, NJ (November 4, 2014) – All four New York Red Bulls Academy teams, from U-13 through U-18, are ranked in the top five nationally in the TopDrawerSoccer Teamrank top 25 for November. The U-13 and U-16 Red Bulls both earned top spots in their age groups, while the U-14s are third and U-18s came in fifth.

“The players and coaches have been working hard since August and are playing some great soccer,” said Bob Montgomery, Director of the Red Bull Academy Programs.

“The recognition is rewarding,” Montgomery continued, “but we realize that we have a lot to work on and need to maintain focus. The recent play of our pro team has been inspirational.”

According to TopDrawerSoccer, the rankings are primarily results-based, but league and championship competitions are also taken into account. Tournament results are also considered at a reduced value.

All four teams are undefeated this season. The U-18s are 6-0-1, and just had two players return from a U.S. U-18 National Camp in Carson, California. The U-16s are also 6-0-1, and also sit atop the East Region after the first leg of the prestigious Generation adidas Cup.

The U-14s are 8-0-1, and also had two players called into a national team camp in October. The U-13 Red Bulls are a perfect 7-0-0, and are outscoring opponents 45-1.

Last year, 15 Red Bulls Academy players signed with NCAA Division I programs, second most among programs with ties to the U.S. Development Academy system. There are currently three academy grads on the Red Bulls first team roster – Santiago Castano, Miatt Miazga and Connor Lade.

The Red Bulls organization is devoted to identifying and developing youth talent across New York and New Jersey. The club recently announced additions to the Red Bulls Training Facility, geared specifically towards additional facilities for the academy teams and training programs.
