New York Red Bulls announce six finalists for Sueño MLS 2016 – Presented by Allstate; Field set for National Finals

HARRISON, N.J. (April 25, 2016) – The New York Red Bulls and Major League Soccer announced today the final roster of 15 talented young field players and three goalkeepers who will compete at the National Finals of Sueño MLS 2016– Presented by Allstate Insurance Company in Carson, Calif., between May 4-7. The field was set yesterday at the New York Red Bulls tryouts, where the last six participants were selected (see names below).


The nationally-televised player search is showcased on Univision Deportes’ República Deportiva, the popular weekly sports entertainment program that chronicles the tryouts in a “reality show within a show” format.


This year the finalists will be coached and mentored by Sueño MLS Ambassadors Luis “El Matador” Hernández, legendary Mexican forward and Mexican goalkeeping legend, Adolfo Ríos.

NOTES:

Celebrating its historic 10th year, Sueño MLS – Presented by AllstateInsurance Company was staged by three Major League Soccer teams, including first-time host Portland Timbers, as well as returning hosts LA Galaxy and the New York Red Bulls. Up to 400 tryout spots were made available in each city on a first come, first serve basis.


In addition, the Allstate “Good Hands®” top goalkeeper award, El Portero Allstate, will be presented for the sixth consecutive year. One goalkeeper at each of the three local tryouts was selected as a local goalkeeper finalist and will compete in the National Finals for the opportunity to be named El Portero Allstate. El Portero Allstate finalists will be mentored by Mexican goalkeeping legend Adolfo Ríos.
