PDL MATCH PREVIEW: New York Red Bulls U-23s vs. Ocean City Nor’easters

New York Red Bulls U-23 returns home on Wednesday, June 8 to host the Ocean City Nor’easters at 7 p.m. at the Red Bulls Training Facility.


Red Bulls U-23s are coming off a 1-1 draw on Saturday against Lehigh Valley United Sonic. Lehigh Valley opened the scoring and then David October, who is entering his junior year at the University of North Carolina, scored a second half goal for the Red Bulls to level it at 1-1.


New York has played four out of 14 games so far this regular season. In four games, the team is 1-1-2 with five points. The Red Bulls U-23s have scored six and also conceded six goals in the four games played.


Arun Basuljevic and Sevag Kherlopian have combined for four goals on the season, each with two. Nicholas Melo and David October are the other two goal scorers on the season.


Ocean City is coming off a 2-0 defeat to Reading United AC over the weekend. In five games played, the Nor’easters have reached a total of nine points with three wins and two loses. In those five games, they have scored 10 and conceded seven. Forward Chevaughn Walsh and midfielder Miguel Jamie are tied for the team lead in goals with four apiece.


This is the first of two meetings between the teams, with the second match taking place on Sunday, July 3 at the Tennessee Ave. Soccer Complex.
