Quotes from New York Red Bulls II head coach John Wolyniec

On what did not go Red Bulls' way today:
I think it was just a real hard week for us, and things kind of caught up to us, between travel and the heat and being on the road. You know sometimes it's natural to get a big win and then not be quite fully prepared to play the next game when it comes around that fast. You know, the emotional high on Wednesday and then you know there's a little bit of a dip for Saturday and as much as we tried to talk about it and deal with it and made a lot of changes with the lineup. You know, I was trying to do that to give our guys some legs and some life, um, you know I guess it was just a little bit much for us against an organized, clever and savy team like Charleston, and you know, having said that we created a lot of chances, we had chances early. We came out and we started the game pretty well and you know, we give up a goal against the run of play and then we're just kind of chasing it the whole game after that.

On playing in the heat:
Yeah, I mean it's hot, I mean it was hard, especially with us playing Wednesday. I think you know you have to give the edge to Charleston there, but at the same time we're playing at home and the conditions are the same for both teams. We just have to be a little more, I think, our guys put a lot of effort in but I think mentally, you know the effort was kind of empty by just not making good decisions by the way we moved, the way we played. You know we got our heads down a bit because we're tired and instead of being smart throughout all the plays we needed to be.

On Kevin O'Toole's play:
Yeah I literally through him out there in the fire, but he's great, he's a guy that we liked in the academy and we always respected Kevin's ability and play. He's surprised me in training, he's done well and we put him in the game and he's done well the past two games and I figured with us being tired, you know this was an opportunity to get a young kid high-level game experience and he did very well with it. You know, he helped us offensively, and defensively he was very good. He is still young but you know over the last few weeks through his experience with us I have grown in my appreciation for him and you know that's what this team is about. Testing guys and seeing how they handle it, and some guys rise to the occasion, and Kevin has done that so far.
