The New York Red Bulls' trade for defender Aurelien Collin is among the MLS' best deals this year, according to MLSSoccer.com's Senior Editor Ben Couch.

New York sent a conditional 4th-round pick in 2017 SuperDraft to Orlando City for Collin in late April.

"From Collin's first game, a full-90 performance against Orlando City, the Red Bulls have posted a staggering plus-20 goal differential; they were minus-6 prior," Couch said. "With a roster as talented as New York's, there's a correlation/causation case to be discussed, but don't discount the mental comfort that comes with a steady, experienced presence -- with a penchant for emergency defending -- locking up one of the center spots on a shaky back line."

Since coming to the Red Bulls, Collin has played in 21 games, starting 19, and logged over 1,700 minutes.

Collin started in MLS in 2011 with Sporting Kansas City, is a two-time All-Star finalist for Defender of the Year in 2012.
