Montreal's Didier Drogba will not play against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, according to a tweet he sent on Saturday night.

Drogba's tweet, according to MLSSoccer.com, reads:

“Very disappointed not to be part of the team because of this damn back pain,” read the Ivorian star's tweet, adding that IMFC need the Ultras Montreal supporters group “to bring the [fire]” as the underdog Impact try to seize an early advantage on short rest against the No. 1 seed in the East.

Drogba had 10 goals and six assists in 22 games for the Impact this season. He did not play in their Knockout Round game against D.C. United.

He had previously missed games after a disagreement with Montreal's staff about not starting.
