Forward Bradley Wright-Phillips is making his first appearance with the team at preseason in Arizona after the birth of his child.
"Obviously, he brings quality every day," Head Coach Jesse Marsch said of having last year's Golden Boot winner back in the fold. "It's his overall energy. It's the way he enjoys training. It's the way he puts a lot into every day. The way he treats the guys around him."
Wright-Phillips participated in training in New Jersey earlier this week before the team flew to Tucson for their latest stint out west.
"I've got to push myself in training more," Wright-Phillips said of his compressed preseason. "It's more on me."
Marsch expects Wright-Phillips to be ready to go in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, even if he's not 100 percent.
"Brad at less than 100 percent is still pretty good," the head coach said.
