  • Dynamo forward Erick Torres’ hat trick leads Houston past the New York Red Bulls, 4-1 on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium. Houston recorded four goals against New York for just the third time in the previous 24 meetings.
  • Bradley Wright-Phillips opened the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute. Wright-Phillips ran into space and was found by Sacha Kljestan. The goal, BWP’s second of the season, comes days after the forward was signed to a new multi-year contract.
  • Wright-Phillips, who was held scoreless through the first two matches, has scored a goal in two of the last three contests to bring his career league total to 71.
  • Kljestan recorded the primary assist, which was his second assist of the season, and 69th in his MLS career. Kljestan has 36 assists as a Red Bull, and is now tied with Amado Guevara and Tab Ramos for second-most in franchise history.
