New York Red Bulls II forward Douglas Martinez got the start and played the full game for the Honduras U-20 National Team in their opening group match of the U-20 World Cup on Monday in Cheonan, Korea.
Honduras fell to Group D favorite France, 3-0.
Martinez recorded Honduras’ lone shot on goal in the 55th minute as a cross swung into the 18 yard box and found the head of Martinez, who would redirect it towards goal but the French goalkeeper was there to grab it.
Martinez and Honduras play their next group match versus New Zealand on Thursday at 7 a.m. ET.
