Despite Recent Slump, FC Dallas Always a Threat

The New York Red Bulls head to Texas to take on FC Dallas on Saturday and know they're in for a tough game on the road.

Despite being winless in their last six games, Dallas always represents a threat, according to midfielder Tyler Adams.

“They have had a good team the past couple of years, whether they were going for a Supporter’s Shield or a U.S. Open Cup, always making a run at the MLS Cup," Adams said on Monday following training. "We know they have a lot of good individuals on the attack , whether its Mauro Diaz being back and a few others along with a strong midfield.

"We know it is going to be a very combative game, but we are going to be ready for it.”

Dallas currently sits just below the red line in the Western Conference with 36 points (9-7-9). Six of their nine wins this season have come at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.

“We know it is going to be a very tough game, it is always a tough place to go and play at," defender Connor Lade said on Monday. "We know they have a very talented team and they will be very hungry to win at home so we are expecting another tough test on the road."

The Red Bulls, with 39 points, currently sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, but have games in hand against each team ahead of them in the standings (including three games in hand with Columbus Crew SC).

New York are 21-17-5 against Dallas in their history, and 9-9-3 on the road.

"These are very crucial games especially to pick up these types of points down the stretch and so this game is going to be huge for us," Lade said.
