INSIDE THE 18: Three Defenders Return to Starting XI

Head Coach Jesse Marsch made three changes to the New York Red Bulls’ Starting XI against the Chicago Fire, inserting three defenders into the lineup.


Defenders Kemar Lawrence, Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar return to the starting lineup following the conclusion of their international duties. They will be alongside Aaron Long and Connor Lade.


Operating in midfield will be Tyler Adams, Felipe, Alex Muyl and Captain Sacha Kljestan.


Bradley Wright-Phillips leads the charge at striker. With a goal against the Fire, BWP will take sole possession of 13th place all time and move behind No. 12 Roy Lassiter (88).


Luis Robles will start in goal, making MLS consecutive start No. 167.


Ryan Meara, Damien Perrinelle, Sal Zizzo, Dilly Duka, Derrick Etienne Jr., Muhamed Keita and Gonzalo Veron round out the 18-man gameday roster.


Midfielder Sean Davis is serving a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation and is not available for today’s match.
