POSTGAME REACTION: Daniel Royer | 09/30/17

Dan, can you just talk about your first start back?
It’s always nice to be in the starting lineup again. I knew a couple days ago so I knew that I had to be ready and it feels great to get back on the field. I tried to put everything into it and now I’m pretty tired because it’s been such a long time. It’s quite intense to play 90 minutes after just playing 15 minutes against DC. I tried to put everything into it just like every other player. I think team effort was amazing again. It’s insane what this team puts into every single game. The energy and the will is just fantastic. As I’ve said in all the other interviews before, it doesn’t really pay off but if we continue like that it’ll come and i think we can be proud of our performance.
You had a chance to take a penalty kick tonight. What did you see in the build up to that play, the call and your shot?
I don’t really remember. I just saw Gonzie (Gonzalo Veron #30) in the box and he’s pretty good in their dribbling and getting penalties called as he’s done in the past few games as well. It was my turn again and I just tried to score and lucky that it happened. Unfortunately we gave up the next goal a couple minutes later.
