The No. 6 seed Red Bulls will take on No. 1 seed Toronto FC in a two-leg Eastern Conference Semifinals series, beginning with a home match at Red Bull Arena on Monday, October 30. Fans are encouraged to arrive at Red Bull Arena for 7 p.m., with official kickoff set for 7:25 p.m.

Toronto and the Red Bulls played to a 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena in mid-May, with Bradley Wright-Phillips scoring an over-the-head goal for New York. That game also saw Luis Robles stop a penalty kick off the boot of Jozy Altidore to preserve the draw.

Later in the season, Toronto secured the 2017 Supporters' Shield with a 4-2 victory over New York on September 30 at BMO Field in Canada. Gonzalo Veron and Daniel Royer (PK) scored for New York.

The Red Bulls advanced through the Knockout Round on Wednesday night with a 4-0 away victory over the Chicago Fire.

New York is in the playoffs for the eighth straight season, the third-longest streak in MLS history, and the longest active streak amongst major professional teams in the New York metro area.

The Red Bulls finished the season with 50 points and a 14-12-8 record, while Toronto claimed a record 69-point campaign, going 20-5-9.

New York went 9-2-6 at Red Bull Arena in 2017, while Toronto posted a 7-4-6 road record.

The second leg of the two-leg Semifinals will take place at BMO Field at a later date.

New York posted a 5-10-2 record on the road during the regular season and added a road victory in Chicago on Wednesday. Toronto went 13-1-3 at home.
