The New York Red Bulls signed midfielder Marc Rzatkowski on loan from Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Bundesliga.
The 27-year-old UEFA Champions League veteran has made more than 200 professional appearances in Europe, having played professionally for five different clubs prior to New York.
Rzatkowski began his professional career at 19-years-old, signing his first professional contract with VfL Bochum II in 2009 after spending more than 10 years progressing through their youth system.
The midfielder broke into VfL Bochum’s first team in 2010, where he enjoyed a three-year spell that included a season-long loan to Arminia Bielefeld in 2011/12.
In 2013, Rzatkowski transferred to FC St. Pauli, where he spent four seasons.
He made 89 appearances for St. Pauli, scoring 13 goals and adding 13 assists before joining Red Bull Salzburg in July of 2016.
He has recorded five goals and five assists in 27 appearances for Salzburg, including three goals and three assists in the current season.
Rzatkowski scored a goal against Hibernians FC in Champions League qualification last Summer.
He won the Austrian league and Cup with Salzburg for the 2016/17 season.
