5 Reasons to Attend Red Bulls vs. Club Deportivo Olimpia

The New York Red Bulls dive back into their CONCACAF Champions League quest at Red Bull Arena on Thursday, March 1 at 8 p.m. for their second leg match-up against CD Olimpia.

Here are five reasons why you should attend:

1. Red Bulls Soccer is back home for the first time in 2018

After four months without Red Bulls soccer, the team returns home to Red Bull Arena for its first competitive game of 2018. Fans will get their first look at the boys in white ahead of the 2018 MLS season opener against Portland. With so much on the line after the 1-1 result last Thursday, fans are in for an exciting second leg.

2. Elimination Game

After advancing to the knockout round, Red Bulls play a two-leg home and away series which is determined by the aggregate goal differential. Away goals are the first tie breaking procedure.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Leg 1, with New York midfielder Daniel Royer scoring an all-important away goal.

If both teams are tied on away goals after the second leg, the game will move to a penalty shootout to determine who moves on. Whoever comes out on top will advance, with the losing team being eliminated from the tournament.

3. Affordable Tickets

All tickets are just $20.00. Champions League soccer has never been so affordable!

4. New Signings

You’ll get the chance to see some of the new exciting talent the Red Bulls added this year!

This season’s roster is filled with numerous familiar faces from last year’s squad, along with many new signings. With manager Jesse Marsch once again leading the way, fans can expect an exciting brand of soccer including new signings such as Alejandro Romero Gamarra, Mark Rzatkowski and Carlos Rivas.

5. More Goals

Daniel Royer, who scored the Red Bulls goal in leg 1 of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, said in a recent interview that for the second leg at the Red Bull Arena, "there is more possible."

After the first leg, Royer added, "we could’ve scored more goals and we wanted a clean sheet."
