  • New York Red Bulls II (8-6-8, 32 points) finished their two-game road trip with a draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies (7-8-5, 26 points), 2-2, on Saturday night at Al Lang Stadium.
  • Saturday evening also served as a rematch of the 2017 Eastern Conference Semifinals, in which NYRB II knocked out Tampa Bay, 2-1, in extra time.
  • The scoring started early with a curling effort from Jared Stroud that put NYRB II up in the second minute. It was his fourth goal of the season.
  • Former NYRB II Stefano Bonomo answered right back for the Rowdies, scoring a penalty in the eighth minute.
  • Bonomo would then double the home side’s lead only a minute later, assisted by another former NYRB II forward, Junior Flemmings.
  • The tide of the match would turn late into stoppage time of the first half, with Flemmings earning a red card.
  • Brian White found the equalizer in the 62nd minute off a cross from Chris Lema. The goal was White’s eighth of the season, good for second on NYRB II.
  • Newly-signed Guatemalan defender Allen Yanes would make his team debut in the 83rd minute, entering the match for Lucas Stauffer.
  • Vincent Bezecourt returned to action for the first time since June 9 at the Columbus Crew, as he logged 40 minutes to begin the match before being substituted.
  • Despite a flurry of chances at the end of the match, NYRB II would earn their seventh road draw of the season.
  • NYRB II return home to MSU Soccer Park to face Penn FC on Friday, August 3rd. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
