Aaron Long and Tyler Adams starred for the US Men’s National Team on Tuesday, playing 90 minutes against Italy in a 1-0 loss played Genk, Belgium.
Long tallied his second cap for the U.S. anchoring the backline in a 3-5-2 formation. Long did not feature in the friendly last week against England.
After having played 20 minutes against England, Adams started and went the distance in the midfield alongside Toronto FC’s Marky Delgado and Colorado’s Kellyn Acosta. It was Adam’s eighth cap in his young international career.
Tuesday’s friendly marked the final match of 2018 for the U.S.
Both players will return to training in preparation for Sunday’s playoff match against Atlanta United FC. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET and can be see live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
