New York Red Bulls II Head Coach John Wolyniec

On the message after Tampa Bay…

Just to make sure we use it, make sure that we get something out of the fact it was a tough game. We learned a couple lessons. Just make sure we get better from it, it is obviously a disappointment, we probably could have put forward a better effort. It is not like we played terrible, but we came up short. So, we have to learn that we need to do a little more and be more prepared and make that we use it as a motivating factor going forward.

On getting results out of next two home games…

Yeah, part of learning from a loss is being able to respond and hopefully we can do that in a good way. We have been really good at home. We have been in the past and have been this year. We got to get back to some of things that are core to us. I suspect we will do that in a good way. Hopefully, that will lead to a good performance, which will hopefully lead to three points.

On North Carolina FC…

They are a good organized team. They have a couple threats that you have to take care of. They have been pretty good on the road and have got a couple results. So, certainly not going to be an easy game. They have good players on that team, and they are well coached. I think they will present a challenge for us for sure. We are just going to have to be ready for that. Like I said, the biggest thing is just showing a big response from a disappointing result.

On coaching against Dave Sarachan…

Yeah, it will be interesting. You know, soccer circles are fairly small, so you see each other every once in a while, and exchange pleasantries and all that. Dave is a great guy, he has coached at a high level and had a lot of success for himself. The word from players that have played for him is always positive. I am sure it will be interesting and a challenge. Certainly, a big change from this past weekend. It will be a great challenge and I am certainly more worried about our players and how well they can perform and hopefully that they are continuing to get better. It will certainly be nice to see Dave, and it will be a great challenge to go against him.

On Preston Kilwien getting another opportunity…

That is a challenge, [Marios] Lomis is a good player. They have guys that buzz around. They are interesting in their attacks, and they will put some balls in the box and challenge you in that way and Ben Speas is a guy that is mobile, good technically, and they are a good passing team. They will certainly present challenges and you know Preston is not there by himself, hopefully guys will help him. I thought Preston overall has done well with his opportunities and I think some of his best play came around the end of the Tampa game. I think that is a good sign for him going forward that he is starting to feel like hey I can do this, and he is starting to feel like things are slowing down for him. He is showing that he can play the 90 minutes in a strong, impressive way. Hopefully, he takes that next step in the scheme.
