U18 Red Bulls Tie Baltimore in USDA matchup: The Red Bull Academy U18 team resumed their USDA schedule with a hard earned point on the road against a tough Baltimore Bays Chelsea team. The Red Bulls started the game strong and put the Bays under immediate pressure. In the 12th minute, midfielder Paul Ehrenworth served in a cross that Kyle McCord was unlucky not to finish as the Baltimore goalkeeper came up with a big save. As the Red Bulls were able to gain more control of the midfield and looked poised to score, however a Bays counter-attack required Red Bulls goalkeeper, Keith Cardona, to come up with the save of the game to maintain the shutout as he denied the Baltimore forward in a one on one situation. The Red Bulls came close to taking the lead again in the 25th minute when a Christian Johnson shot from 20 yards out was tipped by the Baltimore goalkeeper around the post.
In the second half, the Red Bulls controlled the tempo of the game. McCord required the Baltimore goalkeeper to again come up with a big save midway through the half and in 88th minute, Brandon Allen blasted a shot off his left foot just past the post, ensuring the game would end in a scoreless draw.
“The game became quite scrappy in the second half and we started to lose our rhythm a bit,” U-18 Head Coach Paul O’Donnell said. “However, I feel that we created six or seven quality chances to score today and defensively we limited them to one quality chance. The effort of the Bays team as a whole made it very difficult for us to break them down and score today.”

U16 Red Bulls Lose at Baltimore, 3-2: Similar to the U-18 squad, the U16 Red Bulls played a very tight game against the Baltimore Bays, but the U-16 group fell by a final of 3-2. After going down 1-0 early in the first half, the U16's battled back and were able to take the lead thanks to goals from Amando Moreno off a Diego Ceron pass and another one from Sean Sheridan off a Arun Basuljevic pass to go up 2-1. Baltimore capitalized on two Red Bull mistakes right before the half and took advantage. The Bays netted two quick goals before the 45th minute to go up 3-2 at half. In the second 45, Baltimore was not able to generate much in the offensive zone but played strong defense and were able to stave off a numerous Red Bull chances to hold on for the 3-2 win.

U15 Red Bulls Defeat Met Oval 7-0 To Open Spring Season: The U15 Red Bulls were able to jump all over Met Oval in the second half as they broke open a close game by netting six goals in final 45 minutes. The first half was a tightly contested match between the two sides but the Red Bulls were able to find the back of net for a 1-0 lead at the break. The second half figured to be more of the same but second half substitute Michael Kubick brought a new energy to the team and Vincent Brunetti scored two goals to lead the second half surge for the Red Bulls as they went on to add six second half goals to come away with the 7-0 victory.
"In the second half we had a much better team effort which resulted in us being able to break the game open," U15 coach Phil Swenda said.
U14 Red Bulls defeat Met Oval on Saturday: The U14 Red Bulls squad started the game strong with two quick goals by forward Wes Wade that were set up by Ezequiel Cei-Sandoval. Midfielder Joe Swenson scored his first hat trick as a Red Bull player to go along with the two goals apiece Jake Areman and Adonis Martinez scored in the 13-0 rout.
"I thought we started with a lot of energy and played good attacking soccer throughout the game," U14 coach Jeff Zaun.
The U14s continue their season next weekend with games against Matchfit and NJSA.
U13 Red Bulls Tie PDA: The Red Bulls and PDA squared off in matchup that featured the top two teams in the area on Saturday. Playing in their second matchup of the season, the teams played to a 1-1 draw. PDA started strong, controlled tempo throughout the first half and took a 1-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Red Bulls came out motivated and looking for the equalizer, which they got from Malik Stewart when he was set up by Jonas Halvorsen in the box. Stewart was able to make it look easy as the Red Bulls pulled even at 1-1. The Red Bulls continued to press for the go-ahead-goal but were unable to attain it as both teams settled for a 1-1 tie in a very well played game.
"I was happy to see that we were able to come back into the game without changing the way we played,” U13 Head Coach Antonio Meza said. “It was a good result against a good team.”
