The Red Bulls came close to taking the lead again in the 25th minute when a Christian Johnson shot from 20 yards out was tipped by the Baltimore goalkeeper around the post.

In the second half, the Red Bulls controlled the tempo of the game. McCord required the Baltimore goalkeeper to again come up with a big save midway through the half and in 88th minute, Brandon Allen blasted a shot off his left foot just past the post, ensuring the game would end in a scoreless draw.
