Teemu Tainio played a long ball to Luke Rodgers, who held up the ball and laid it back to an onrushing Richards, who drove the ball to the lower corner that beat Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall and gave the Red Bulls the early, 1-0, advantage just 39 seconds into the match. Richards continued his hot play against the Dynamo with the quickest goal on New York history.
