Academy Sends Four To U.S. U-17 National Team

The Red Bulls Academy once again proved why it's one of the elite youth organizations in the country, as four of its own were chosen to represent the United States Under-17 National Team for its participation in the upcoming Copa Saprissa Internacional, which will take place from June 23-July 1 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Each facet of the sqaud will feature a Red Bulls Academy standout, as goalkeeper Evan Louro, defender Kevin Politz, midfielder Christopher Lema and forward Wesley Wade all got the call.

The Academy players, along with the rest of the U.S. U-17 team, will play up to seven matches during the tournament. Play for the United States begins on June 23 when they open up against the U-17 select team of Costa Rican club Linafa. Additionally, the U.S. will take on Honduras on June 24, Costa Rica on the 25th, Panamanian club side Chorrillo FC on the 26th and Mexico on the 27th. Additionally, the U.S. may play two friendlies against to be determined teams on June 29 and July 1 before returning home.

Earlier this week, Red Bulls Academy player Malcolm Dixon was also called up by the United States at the Under-15 level.
