Montpellier, Lyon Announce Rosters for July 28 Match at Red Bull Arena

HARRISON, NJ (July 25, 2012) – Ligue de Football Professionnel Champions Montpellier Hérault SC  and Coupe de France winners Olympique Lyonnais have announced their rosters for the 2012 Trophee Des Champions, the annual battle between France’s league and cup champions to be played on Saturday, July 28 at Red Bull Arena at 3:00 PM ET.

The match is the annual kickoff to the French soccer season, and the fourth consecutive year that the match will be contested outside of France, but the first time the Trophee will be played in a country that is not French speaking. The match is organized each year by the LFP (Ligue de Football Professionnel), who runs the two top divisions in France.

Montpellier captured its first ever Ligue 1 title during the 2011-12 season, finishing atop the league table with 82 points. One of France’s most famous clubs, Lyon, won its fifth Coupe de France, defeating Quevilly 1-0 in the 2011-12 final.
