Red Bulls-D.C. United MLS Cup Playoffs First Leg Match Moved to RFK Stadium on Saturday at 8:00 PM

HARRISON, NJ (Oct. 31, 2012) – Major League Soccer announced today that the first leg of the New York Red Bulls-D.C. United MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinals Series will be moved to RFK Stadium and played on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:00 PM. The game was originally scheduled to be held at Red Bull Arena.


With United hosting the Red Bulls in the first leg, the return match of the home-and-home aggregate goals series will now take place at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 8:00 PM.
Both matches will still be shown live nationally on NBC Sports Network. Red Bulls Full Season Ticket Holders already have their same seats for the first two playoff matches included in their ticket plan. Tickets already purchased for the original Nov. 3 Red Bull Arena date will be honored for the Nov. 7 second leg.  
New York earned the third seed in the East following a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Union away from home Saturday afternoon. The result lifted New York to 57 points off a 16-9-9 record. The Red Bulls will be facing the second seeded D.C. United, which earned a 17-10-7 record and 58 points. New York went 1-1-1 in 2012 against United, most recently tying D.C. 2-2 on Aug. 29 at RFK Stadium. The team that scores the most goals between the two matches will advance to the two-leg Eastern Conference Championship, where they will face the winner of the Sporting Kansas City-Chicago Fire/Houston Dynamo series.
